Residential Delivery

We offer residential bark, mulch, soil, and aggregate delivery in Greater Kent County and surrounding areas. We deliver as little as 1 yard up to whatever your specific project needs.

Delivery Policies and Requirements
  • Placement: We generally deliver to a paved or regularly driven surface. Other locations are determined on a case-by-case basis at the driver’s discretion.
  • Multiple Items: If you need more than one item delivered, such as mulch and topsoil, it WILL require two separate deliveries and additional fees.
  • Roadways: We are unable to deliver on public roadways without a permit.
  • Liability: Delivery of products from Cannonsburg Wood Products waives all liability of incidental property damage, including but not limited to driveway cracking, damage to sprinkler heads, irrigation equipment, or landscaping.

Expert Application & Care Guide

The Advantages of Wood Mulch
  • Suppress Weed Growth: Mulch creates a barrier that saves you time and money on maintenance and labor.
  • Retain Moisture: It prevents water loss from evaporation, helping your plants thrive during Michigan dry spells while lowering your water bill.
  • Insulate Soil: Protect your perennials and annuals from extreme temperature changes and last-minute freezes.
  • Improve Plant Health: Prevents soil from crusting, which increases water absorption and cuts down on the need for constant sprinkling.
Best Application Practices
  • Standard Depth: Generally, apply mulch 2”–3″ deep.
  • Soil Type: Use a thinner layer for heavy clay soils and a thicker layer for light, sandy soils.
  • Proper Drainage: Always slope the mulch away from buildings to ensure proper water runoff.
  • Aeration: Rake your mulch every 4–6 months to rejuvenate the color and provide aeration for plant roots.
Color-Enhanced Mulch Instructions

To get the best results and long-lasting color from your mulch, please follow these simple guidelines:

Allow for a “Curing” Window: Color-enhanced mulch requires 24–48 hours of dry weather after installation for the colorant to properly adhere to the wood.
Check the Forecast & Sprinklers: Plan your installation at least 24–48 hours before any expected rain. Be sure to turn off sprinklers during this same timeframe to prevent premature washing.
Protect Your Driveway: To avoid potential staining, place a tarp on your driveway or concrete surfaces prior to delivery.
Clean Spills Quickly: If any colorant bleeding occurs, clean the area as soon as possible using Simple Green and rinse thoroughly.
